How time does have a way of scooting by. I am working diligently to get things ready for Grand Chapter and I am sure you are doing the same for your chapters. We had a good turnout for our meeting at Mt. Scott and accomplished a great deal in preparation for Grand Chapter. We will look forward to the items that our members on the outskirts of this state bring to share for our Ways and Means table.
Sister Patti our President has done more than her share this year with storing our items for the table and arriving early to set things up and sell. We owe her a big "THANK YOU" and need another GOOD member to volunteer to help with the table next year. We already have (2) helpers, but we need one more to lighten the load, please say yes to this important task.
Our next meeting will be on Saturday, May 11th (note this is a change of date!!) we will be meeting at Orchid Ch. in Mulino for a luncheon and work party to make "rocks" and paint scenery for our Installation of Officers. Wear your work clothes and bring a friend we will have things ready in no time and we intend to have a bunch of fun, you won't want to miss it!
Remember we will be wearing a "bit of Plaid" on our shoulder next year. You must be sure that you have yours ordered, as we have a limited amount of material for the WM's & WP's, due to a missed shipment of material. Get your orders in to Judy Power, A.M. of Orchid Chapter - her contact information is in the directory.
Bro. Harry & I, plus Sister Sharon & Bro.Mac have been having a wonderful time traveling around and announcing our "Grand Officers" for next year. We have especially enjoyed the fun presentations that have been done by Sharon & Mac for the Gr. Escorts, henceforth known as the "Honey Do's". We will hope to have several of our Grand Officers present at our May luncheon, so that you can meet them and also hope to have "Candidates" present to give us an opportunity to get to know them better and help prepare us for elections.
We will also be selecting our officers for next year, so you can see that this meeting will be one that you cannot miss. Please join us and offer your suggestions. We miss you when we don't see you!
Special thanks to this year's officers for their wonderful efforts on behalf of the group, you are appreciated so very much.
I hope the enclosed instructions for Installation will assist you in preparing for your installation of officers and will answer any questions you might have had about procedure. Follow these directions and you can't go wrong.
I know that I must be missing something important, but if so will have to catch up next time. Remember to keep Tue. evening open at Grand Chapter, we will have another "informal" gathering after the evening session, it was great fun last year and promises the same.
Also set aside August 4th on your calendars to join the Dream Weaver Grand Family on the Oregon Coast at Reedsport for our annual picnic and changing of the guard (officers). It will be the last day of our Gr. Officers school of Instruction and we have chosen the coast for a little cooler weather for the exemplification of the degree work. More on this later.
See you Soon, D.W. Hugs, Penny
