I'm rather poor at taking notes. The discussion covered
more than this. But hopefully I caught enough of the
important stuff. - Allen

Toby: We need to get moving rather than get bogged down.
Assume we are still in proof-of-concept stage and everything
we do in this stage may be disposable. Right now we don't need
to be worrying about future issues such as: boat configuration,
power budget, CPU selection.
(General agreement)
Viewing the
2006-01-01 plan
in the light of the "get moving"objective yields:
Stage 1.0 - proof of concept:
- Use Burr's boat.
- Use Dave's Lantronic sensors.
- Sensors provide feedback to allow a person to drive the boat.
- Wing #1 angle - ship relative
- Wing #2 angle - ship relative
- Wind angle - ship relative
- Not yet
- compass
- wind and water speed
Stage 1.0 - Add more sensors:
- compass
- wind and water speed
- others as necessary
-
Undefined:
Add an on-boat CPU if that is the easiest way to add sensors.
If the sensors don't need a smart CPU, don't add one.
Action Items:
-
Dave O'Gorman: Lantronic sensors for wing and wind angle.
It is believed these talk SNMP over 802.11.
-
Alan: SNMP client code to interpret sensors and pass to GUI.
-
Allen: GUI
